Rallye of the Fulvia Knights - 50 years Fulvia
Free flow rallye from all over Europe to Turin to celebrate the 50st birthday of the Lancia Fulvia. Although the rallye focuses on Fulvia all Lancia's are welcome. It is certainly not a competitive rallye but a meeting of Lancia friends from all over Europe and from further away. Nice roads. Nice places to visit. Nice dinners and lunches.

Lancisti who want to participate are free to enter and leave at any stage. A list of hotels and restaurants will be published later. You can do you own bookings and reservations. We have reserved a number of rooms and tables. If you are early you can ask us to do the bookings for you.

If you know some of the area we plan to drive through, please, contact me. I always welcome suggestions of local people.

Thursday sep 5, 08:30

Departure for  Mondovi (Cuneo). 152km, 4h00

The courageous drive over the pass Col de Tende. Bring tools and material to fill up potholes. I will bring a guitar and sing the blues while you do the chain gang labour of road reconstruction. If you want to go over the pass, you do so at your own risk. Make sure, your car is in order and the hand brake is fully functioning.

The very courageous take the tunnel of the col de Tende. This over 5km long tunnel is the first Alpine tunnel. It was built in 1852. It has one tube. Traffic can enter only from one side at a time. The synchronisation between the stop lights at the Italian and French sides is cosi cosi (comme ci, comme ça), meaning that it is correct only once per century.

Look at the following movies in full screen:
Up the pass on the French side 1
Up the pass on the French side 2
Down the pass on the Italian side.
 Through the tunnel.

Smart people cheat by going through the tunnel up the pass on the Italian side, visit the fort and down the pass on the Italian side. I will sneak through the tunnel (at the end of the queu) and make a bee line for La Borsarella.

12:30

Lunch at  La Borsarella in Mondovi, Italy.

At the suggestion of the Mayor, we stay in Mondovi on thursday, friday and saturday night.  Mondovi is a beautiful medieval city. The Piazza Maggiore and some other historical places are reserved for parking our cars. Some of the old buildings around the Piazza Maggiore have been converted to pleasant Bed and Breakfast places, which have been reserved for us.
See:
Lo Studio di Piazza (Use Google Chrome or Firefox)
The Albergo of the  Academia Montis Regalis.
The lady of Lo Studio di Piazza coordinates the B&B reservations.

Many Italian friends will joins us in Mondovi. Not only with Fulvia, but as I know of now also Ardea, Aurelia, Flaminia, Flavia, Stratos.

Official Welcome by the Mayor of Mondovi in the Town Hall.

Dinner: TBD

Friday sep 6

A day to "lanterfant". I am not sure there is a translation from this Dutch word into any language. Personally I think the word comes from "Festina lente", the motto of the emperor Augustus.

Optional: visit to Collezione Lancia in Torino and Lingotto.

Dinner in Mondovi

Saturday sep 7

Drive around Langhe. Wine tasting. The Langhe area is well known for its scenery, excellent food and wines as Nebbiolo, Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto, Arneis. In fact the one and only University of Gastronomy is in this area.

Gala dinner in the main hall of the Circolo di Lettura, which is in a beautiful old building in piazza Maggiore in Mondovi.

Fireworks and other festivities.

Sunday sep 8

Il secundo Raduno dell’ Amicizia.

Lunch. Any suggestions from the local Lancisti?

See you!
