Since my alarm had power lock output and a 2nd channel, I got a universal
DEI 2 door power lock kit (~$60) and trunk release (~$30). The power locks
will take about two hours to do and require you to run 4 wires, drill 4 holes,
and tighten 4 allen screws. Easy enough for the inventinve. the beta door
provides ample room for the lock actuator to mounted up right at the far end
of the door right underneath the inside lock. Hook the actuator bar up the
lock rod coming down from the lock.
The trunk release is a bit more tricky and requires you to remove the mechanism from the trunk lid ( two bolts i think). The trunk release is only a solenoid that pulls a cable when activated. I mounted this to the middle crossmember on the bottom of the trunk lid. Them take the mechanism that you took off and look inside it to see how it works. What is required is that you drill a small hole in the back side (facing front of car) for the cable to pass through. Then take the cable and attatch it to the release claw that moves when the lock is pushed in. Remount the lock mechanism and adjust the cable tension and off you go.
These two power accessories can be added w/o an alarm with front mounted switches but mine were hooked to the alarm so that when the car was armed the doors locked, unarmed doors unlock, and when the 2nd channel is pushed on the key chain the truck pops open.
