Q: I am now painting my 1967 Fulvia Sport 1.3 (818.332.001936, steel) and would like to get the original color. The coupé codes are listed here for S3 cars, mine is S1 and a Sport, not a coupé. I can find no color code anywhere on the car, and although it is red I understand there were several reds Lancia used. Can you send me codes and descriptions of the reds used in '67 on the Zagato bodied cars?

A: Series 1 Fulvia Zagatos had the following red paints:
Rosso Palermo (Lechler 21; Lesonal 252)
Rosso San Siro (Lechler 192; Lesonal 102592)
Rosso (Lesonal 167)
Rosso salmone (Lesonal)
I am afraid I have no other paint code references. Inside the glove box compartment there should have been a self adhesive label listing the paint code.

Q: Thanks for the information, without any knowledge of the actual types of red and minus the sticker I'm afraid I still don't know which red mine was. It did fade to a rather orange shade over the last 30 years. Do you know if it is possible to call Lancia or Zagato, would they have the information on the colour of my chassis number car available?

A: It could be Rosso Palermo (which was slightly orangish) but I would not bet on it. Zagato is no hope but you might try to call the Lancia Club in Turin to find out if they can match the chassis number with the colour. Their address can be obtained from the Fulvia Q&A site of www.viva-lancia.com. Moreover, the LMC librarian Paul Mayo might have an old leaflet with the original colours of Fulvias. Try to contact him.
